πŸ–‡οΈBridge to Base

Bridging to chain refers to the process of connecting or linking two separate blockchain networks to enable the transfer of assets or information between them.

Base

While there used to be an "official" bridge operated by Base, it has been deprecated. Base now recommends using third-party bridges that are part of the "Superchain" vision for greater decentralization.

Using Recommended Third-Party Bridges (e.g., Across Protocol, Orbiter Finance, Brid.gg, Superbridge):

  • Go to the Bridge Website: Navigate to the website of your chosen bridge (e.g., across.to, orbiter.finance, brid.gg, superbridge.app).

  • Connect Wallet: Connect your Ethereum Mainnet wallet (e.g., MetaMask).

  • Select Networks: Choose "Ethereum Mainnet" as the "From" network and "Base" as the "To" network.

  • Choose ETH and Amount: Select ETH as the asset and enter the amount you wish to bridge.

  • Review Fees and Time: Check the estimated transaction fees and the time it will take for the bridge to complete.

  • Confirm Transaction: Approve the transaction in your connected wallet.

Implementing and maintaining these bridges requires careful consideration of security, scalability, and compatibility between the connected blockchains.
